Code of Conduct and Discplinary Procedure

CBN Hockey Club expect all players to abide by the following Code of Conduct and Disciplinary Procedure guidelines whenever representing the club.

Player's Code of Conduct

General Code of Conduct that you should be aware off, please refer to full guidelines

  • Learn and play by the Rules of Hockey.
  • Play for fun and enjoyment
  • Win with modesty and lose with dignity.
  • Recognise and applaud all good play.
  • Respect all coaches, team mates, officials and opponents.
  • Arrive for all training and matches in good time.
  • Always warm up and cool down properly.
  • Always wear clothing suitable for the expected conditions.
  • Always bring adequate protective equipment to every training session or match (shin guards as a minimum, but a mouthguard and padded glove are recommended).
  • Inform the coach of any injury or illness as soon as possible.
  • Inform the coach if you will be arriving late or need to leave early.
  • Inform the coach in good time if you are unavailable for any match.
  • Do not smoke, consume alcohol or take drugs of any kind on club premises or whilst representing the club in any way.

Parent's Code of Conduct

In the spirit of fair play and competitiveness we request that all parents, carers and spectators:

  • Encourage their children to learn and play by the rules of hockey.
  • Respect the opinion and decisions of officials, coaches and managers.
  • Encourage, instead of force, their children to play.
  • Discourage unfair play and arguing with officials or other players.
  • Praise your child’s efforts whether they win or lose.
  • Get to know you child’s coach and / or manager.
  • Set a good example by recognising and applauding all good play.
  • Use proper language at all times.
  • Do not coach from the sidelines.
  • Never punish, ridicule or belittle a child for losing or making mistakes.

Game Management System (GMS) from England


All adult members who play in North League fixtures MUST be registered to our club in GMS.

If you are arriving from another club, you need written approval from the club your are leaving (to confirm they agree and you don't have any fees outstanding etc)

If leaving our club you will need to request approval from our Membership secretary.

  • Team Admins (Captain or delegate) can see opposition contact details in GMS to confirm the fixture time/location and teas).
  • Team Admins must create a Teamsheet in GMS before the fixture.
  • Team Admins must enter the result in GMS by 2000hrs on the day of the fixture. (NB Home AND Away teams enter result).
  • Team admins must enter the details in GMS by 2000hrs on the day AFTER the fixture (including goalscorers, cards etc.).
