Community Outreach at CBN HC
At CBN Hockey Club, we are dedicated to making a positive impact across East Lancashire through a variety of Community Outreach initiatives. Throughout the year, our "Hockey Horizons Community Initiative" and other projects aim to provide more opportunities for engagement, increase awareness of hockey, build partnerships, and improve health outcomes in our communities.
Our outreach efforts target key areas, including Burnley & Padiham, Clitheroe & Ribble Valley, Blackburn & Darwen, Accrington & Hyndburn, and Rawtenstall & Rossendale. Through these initiatives, we not only promote physical activity and well-being but also work to upskill local residents, providing them with valuable volunteering opportunities that contribute to their personal and professional development.
Hockey Horizons Community Initiative
Thanks to funding from Sport England and the Movement Fund, we’ve launched the "Hockey Horizons Community Initiative." This project introduces and expands hockey in street hockey settings across East Lancashire, specifically focusing on underserved communities. Our goal is to establish free, weekly pop-up hockey sessions in local Multi-Use Games Areas (MUGAs), making the sport accessible to everyone

A critical part of our outreach is the development of local talent. We focus on training and empowering local residents to become coaches, activators, and volunteers. This not only ensures the sustainability of our programs but also provides valuable skills that can be applied in various aspects of life, fostering leadership and community engagement.
